Coziness is equal parts textures and softness. You can have a spotlessly clean house, but without it having a comfy cozy aspect it can feel stale and almost feel not lived in. Balance is needed in order to create cozy living rooms.

1. Fluffy throw pillows
Fluffy pillows add coziness. If you allow the colours of the pillows to flow into each other, the cozy style comes across as a more relaxed vibe. Instead of having very rigid lines. Start with a larger sized pillow toward the back of the couch and work your way forward adding more pillows in different sizes to create smoothly transitioned layers of texture and pattern.
2. Blankets
Warm soft cozy blankets can have the same effect as pillows. They add a sense of comfort and give a living room a lived in feel to it.
3. Candles
For me, candles can become tricky. Ever since I was little, I have been sensitive to intense smells whether its in the form of candles, cleaning products, etc. So I find candles can become a little tricky. The look of candles should always give off a relaxing effect to the eyes. However, the smell can sometimes end the relaxation in its tracks if it is overpowering. When buying candles, I’m that person who stands in the aisle smelling every candle until I find the perfect one – pretty to look at, smells delicious, not too strong/intense of a smell, and gives off the relaxation vibes.
4. Plants
Incorporating the natural element of plants into a space adds another layer of colour and coziness. To use plants in the most effective way, they can be placed in the following locations: empty corners, bookshelves, or on top of the coffee table.
5. Fireplace
Out of all the ways to create a cozy living room, a fireplace is the ultimate way to bring this about. However, we don’t always have the choice to add a fireplace into a space. If you do not have a fireplace, you can use a heater.
Introducing and incorporating all of these ideas into your living room, will make it the coziest spot in your home. You’ll never want to leave!
