In this blog post you will learn seven creative and practical ideas you can use in order to make your apartment bedroom ideas come to life in a cozy textured way.
1. Add Extra Layers of Bedding, Blankets, Throws, and Pillows
When you think of a luxurious bed, what do you think of? I think of warm bedding fresh from the dryer, blankets, throws and pillows. Your bed should put a smile on your face and make you think of relaxing the minute you walk into your room and see it. Whether we realize it or not, we spend a lot of time in our bed getting that recommended 8+ hour beauty sleep.
Here are my top tips for making your bed look and feel luxurious:
- Lots of throw pillows – this one is more of a preference. I personally love a lot of pillows. When I see them, they make me want to jump into bed and lay in the center of them all.
- Have pillows match or share a colour – if your pillows look like you grabbed random ones and threw them all together and hope they look good. That is not going to look luxurious. Do you have a colour scheme in your room already? What colour(s) are your walls painted? Try to match the pillows to the same colour or use a complimentary colour.
- Bamboo sheets – I cannot live without them and will never switch back to any other type of sheets! Bamboo sheets make you feel like you are sleeping on a fully cloud.
- Everyone has different temperature preferences. By having extra layers available at the foot of the bed, it makes it nice and easy in case you get cold in the middle of the night.
2. Light Coloured or Neutral Bed Frame and Bedding
The number one piece of furniture to think of is your bed. It’s even in the name, BEDroom. Choosing a lighter coloured or neutral bed will give the illusion of making your space feel bigger and is a nicer option for styling with accessories.
3. Clean and Simple Decor
Keeping the decor clean and simple in a space will enable a calming effect on you, as it does not overpower your senses. A bedroom should always feel calming, relaxing, and inviting.
4. Add Natural Elements
Whether it is greenery, florals, stones, or wood, you can bring so much life into any space by simply adding a natural element. Using both faux or real, using natural elements helps to balance out your space and bring it back to earth. It’s the perfect way to introduce a subtle colour, without being overbearing.
5. Keep It Bright and Airy
In interior design, colour is the fun element to work with. Colour can completely change the character and feeling of a space. It can either make it feel brighter, airy and larger or it can make it feel dark and dull. Choosing the right paint colours can sometimes feel difficult to do when there are so many choices before you. Take the time to look through colour samples to choose the right colour.
6. Layer Picture Frames
Layering picture frames adds an extra dimension of texture and subtly adds an extra layer of colour, just as the greenery does also.
7. Add A Candle On The Nightstand
Candles help to create a warm ambient feeling within a space. The candle uses both your sense of sight and smell which allows you to have a feeling of calmness and relaxation.
